War Movie Review

Quick Points:

  • Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer movie War emerged as the 11th highest grossing Hindi film.
  • It is a crowd-puller entertaining movie.
  • There is an astonishing action, slick screenplay and a killer Hrithik-Tiger bromance in the film.
  • The movie is all about an Indian soldier is assigned to eliminate his former mentor and he must keep his wits about him if he is to be successful in his mission. When the two men collide, it results in a barrage of battles and bullets.

If we talk about the performance, I should say that the more Shroff tries, the more he peers. Reaching to the climax, you can observe that his voice gets shriller.
On the other hand, Hrithik doesn’t run to the top point. He fascinates the audience with his glide full of swag. Well, it will not be wrong to say that Hrithik mastered his swagger glide way back in Dhoom 2 and then in Bang Bang. However, scenes of intense acting, Ashutosh Rana emerges as more natural and so, more human. However, the two heroes’ perfect consonance and well-matched tuning and rhythm makes them one of the best on-screen couples in recent times.
Vaani makes the obligatory bikini-dressed entry in the film. She gets to do little with the movie but brings in a small twist in the plot.
War is able to mix some dizzy elements of the Hindi spy thrillers like Ankhen, Agent Vinod etc., like hidden lairs, blown covers, tapped phones, deadly poison, hidden transmitters, mistaken identities and it literally gives it a modern polish. You can see many locations in the movie from panoramic Connaught Place in Delhi to Malta, Marrakesh, Portugal to some that are spectacular even in their destruction like Tikrit.
War serves up a little of everything in its plot — action, drama, music, romance, exotic locations, car chases and bromance. Director Siddharth Anand and his team have designed the many stunts of the film to recreate thrills that are usually seen in hollywood movies like Mission Impossible and Fast And Furious. The action and the dialogues are entertaining, but the predictable storytelling and the not-so-original screenplay leave a lot to be desired in this desi action movie.
