4 including minor girl injured by terrorists in J&K, police says ‘merciless act’

Four persons including a baby girl were injured after getting shot at by terrorists in Dangerpora area of Sopore district on Saturday morning, Kashmir Zone Police said.

“Terrorists fired and injured four persons including a baby girl at Dangerpora Sopore,” the police said in a tweet. “All injured shifted to the hospital and stated to be stable. Police on spot and investigation in progress.”

All the injured were taken to hospital and were given medical treatment. The minor girl, who also received gunshot injured, is said to be out of danger. The girl has been identified as Usma Jan.

Jammu and Kashmir police today termed the incident as ‘merciless act of terrorism’ and said that a team has reached the place of attack and a probe has been initiated. 

The terrorists attacked the civilians for defying their warnings to shut shop to protest Centre’s decision to withdraw the state’s special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution, NDTV reported.

Police said that the terrorists entered the home of a resident identified as Hamidullah Rather’s at Dangerpura because they were upset that he ran his business despite warnings.
