Manish Malhotra’s father passed away today morning!
Bollywood fashion designer Manish Malhotra’s father passed away on Monday morning. He was in his 90s. The last rites are taken place at Santacruz.
Manish is a creative fashion designer and is one of the most successful designers in the country. Recently, he ventured the stage and designed clothes for Feroz Abbas Khan’s adaptation of K Asif’s blockbuster film Mughal-e-Azam.He also designs clothes for a number of celebs.
Karan Johar, the filmmaker was one of the first to reach his loved friend. At the last rites, Shabana Azmi, David Dhawan, Boney Kapoor, and Sophie Choudry were seen. Later, several Bollywood celebrities visited Manish’s residence. Gauri Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora Ladak, Shilpa Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Farah Khan, and many others were snapped outside the designer’s house. Shweta Bachchan Nanda along with her mother Jaya too came to Manish’s house.
Manish’s closest Bollywood friend was Sridevi. He remains close with her daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.
In a tribute note, Manish wrote that “I had never lost anyone as close as Sridevi. “This is the first time I’ve lost someone so close, and it feels surreal. I’d known her for 28 years. We were at a wedding together and then, out of nowhere, her sister Srilatha was handing me a silk sari for her funeral. I spoke to her the night she passed away. We talked about everything under the sun, from Janhvi’s film, how beautiful Khushi looked at the wedding to even what she had eaten earlier that day. Even now, so many days later, I still expect my phone to ring, and to hear her discuss an outfit or a project which we can work on together”.
