Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam today on his 88th birth anniversary.
“My heartfelt tribute to Dr APJ Abdul Kalamji on his anniversary. He dreamt of the India of 21st century and then went on to give his exceptional contribution to the goal. His ideal life will keep inspiring the people of the country. India salutes Dr APJ Abdul Kalamji on his Jayanti,” PM Modi tweeted in Hindi.

Several other political leaders like Amit Shah also wished the Kalam today on his 88th birth anniversary.
On Twitter, Home Minister Amit Shah wrote: “I offer my tributes to former President of India, Bharat Ratna Dr APJ Abdul Kalam ji on his Jayanti. Dr Kalam was an epitome of simplicity and knowledge who devoted his entire life to the nation. He is an inspiration to every Indian.”

We know that PM Narendra Modi was one of the first ones to pay tribute to the Missile Man on his 88th birth anniversary today but Bollywood was not far behind. Many Bollywood celebrities paid tributes to the ‘Missile Man’ and India’s former President, Abdul Kalam, on the occasion.

Ayushmann Khurrana wrote, “Paying homage to the visionary, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary today. May your thoughts continue to inspire our coming generations. #APJAbdulKalam.”

Actor Sunny Deol also paid tribute to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his 88th birth anniversary. The actor-turned-politician shared a picture of Kalam along with a quote by him on his Twitter handle.
“Remembering a great human, Missile Man #APJAbdulKalam sir on his Birth Anniversary,”he tweeted.

Sonakshi Sinha who recently starred in Mission Mangal, based on the life of scientists in the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and India’s Mars mission also paid homage to the visionary scientist and late former President of the country.

Raveena Tandon opened the fact that she couldn’t fulfil her dream of meeting Kalam in person.
“Remembering respected Dr. #APJAbdulKalaam Ji on his birth anniversary.. His contribution to the nation is invaluable. Was always a dream to meet him someday sadly he went too soon. Thank you for everything you have done for the country,” Raveena wrote.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, famously known as the Missile Man of India and People’s President, was born on October 15, 1931, in Tamil Nadu. In 2002, he was elected as the 11th President of India and served his position till 2007.
Kalam was a renowned aerospace scientist. He spent four decades at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
He died of a cardiac arrest in 2015, at the age of 83.
