Teachers should not be ill-treated : Bengal Governor

WB Governor, Jagdeep Dhankar on Thursday said:the society should not ill-treat teachers as they are the most important cog in the education system.
‘Schools are known by teachers, not infrastructure’
“If a teacher is ill-treated, if a teacher has to cry aloud, it won’t be right, it should not happen,” he said.
At a Teachers’ Day function by the St Xavier’s College Alumni Association, the governor said ,an educational institute of every tiny town, is known by its human wealth – its teachers – and not the infrastructure it has.
Dhankar did not indicate any incident regarding this. But there have been information of attacks on the teachers. Teachers taking out rallies and investing sit-ins in the state in latest times.
Paying rich mark of respect to the second president of India S Radhakrishna, on whose birth anniversary the country celebrates the Teachers’ Day, he has been globally documented as a great theorist and remembered as a teacher Dhankar said .
